HARKENDATA Solution

HARKENDATA was retained to initially fill the role of acting VP of Data Management and BI Architect for a student loan servicing division within a global financial services firm. In this role, we were responsible for helping set direction for the BI data architecture, the data warehouse and BI platform and a portfolio of applications. Our engagement team completed a BI Health Check for the existing application portfolio and platform. We developed an executive presentation for IT and Business Executives at the division highlighting the risk areas, gaps relative to industry best practices, and go-forward recommendations. Based upon our recommendations the division is seeking to establish a Business Intelligence Competency Center (BICC).

After the completion of the health check, we have assisted executive management in determining their BI strategy for the division by providing recommendations for BI architecture (HW and SW) as well as divisional enterprise database design. The initial work for establishing the BI Competency Center for the division includes HARKENDATA as the driving force behind implementing a customized BI focused methodology and ETL standards for best practice implementation. This will help improve the consistency of quality and decrease the time of delivery for data load routines on a division level.
